I explored different forms, testing a square structure, a capsule, and a rib-cage-inspired shape. The ribcage form stood out for its openness and rhythm, giving the lamp a sense of presence while maintaining balance and proportion.

Through refinement, I simplified the structure and adjusted details to make the lamp feel more intentional and easy to use. Small adjustments to proportions and connections helped the form feel complete and grounded.

Designed as an exploration of light, form, and atmosphere, Luminal celebrates quiet presence and organic rhythm. Its adjustable rib structure invites interaction, allowing the lamp to shift between sculptural object and ambient light source. Thoughtful proportions, soft diffusion, and a grounded base create a sense of balance—transforming light into something felt rather than seen, and turning the lamp into a calm, living element within the space.
